Wayne and Suzann Anderson, owners of Bellamy Manor and Gardens Bed and Breakfast in North Carolina

Your Hosts

Meet Suzann & Wayne Anderson: your guides to the discovery and wonder that await you at Bellamy.

Wayne, an Enfield native, is the son of Julia Branch Anderson and Alton Anderson, and kin to many Enfield natives who will gladly bring the history of Enfield to life. Julia, an artist and pianist, gave Wayne his creative edge; his dad, Alton, showed him the way to make a life worthwhile. Suzann is the daughter of Mary Kearon and Andrew McKiernan, who both hail from the green and misty isle of Ireland. Mary, an accomplished portrait artist and painter, gave Suzy her joie d’vivre and enthusiasm for entertaining, while her dad Andrew imbued her with a love of travel and adventure. “Its amazing how similar our parent’s lives were,” says Wayne, “and yet we grew up so differently: Suzann from an urban & northern backdrop, me from a southern & rural scene.”

When Wayne traveled around the United States after college, he lived in many places from the West Coast to the East. It was really serendipitous that he arrived in New York City and later settled in Jersey City where he met Suzann. Both were working in heritage, arts & cultural affairs, events and tourism planning for different entities. They met while working on an American Heritage Festival and they continued their collaboration in music, arts and entertainment.

The rest is history. Suzann fell in love with Wayne and his home town of Enfield. Together, they decided: what better way to share fun and adventure than to have a B&B, meet new people all the time, and share with them the art, music, and heritage of a rural life?

Our Bed & Breakfast

Formerly the town home of Dr. John T. Bellamy, Bellamy Manor sits on four acres of established old growth. 100-year-old boxwoods greet you at the front door and loblolly pines rustle along the pathways. The scent of lemon from the magnolias in the spring & fall as well as the bloom of the camellias during Christmas time never cease to amaze us.

The bedrooms, all with private bathrooms and lovely views, are charmingly furnished, and the beds exceptionally comfortable — made right here in North Carolina. Downstairs, our fine reception rooms include a cozy & eclectic library, a large drawing room with a grand piano, and a dining room. The gardens are designed after the early French landscaper, Andre Michaux. The food at Bellamy Manor is highly praised, with only the freshest ingredients grown locally.

Throughout the year, Bellamy Manor may be reserved in its entirety for a private house party to celebrate a special occasion. Two- or three-night house parties are popular, remarkably affordable, and truly memorable.

You can get to Enfield by jet, plane, train, and automobile. We invite you to drop in and stay a while.
