Rooms > Chinoiserie Room

Deep reds will carry you on your next trade expedition. This room features a jacuzzi tub to soak in after your long trek into the deep dismal swamp where you have a rare glimpse of cypress knees and you can still smell the sweet fresh air of open meadows blooming with cotton.

Filled with antique Asian furniture, you can easily see why the chinoiserie craze swept across Europe and America. The custom draperies are named for Madame Butterfly. The mantle is a fine example of early 20th century chinoiserie from Grandmother Kearon’s house in New York City. Enjoy a lovely brew of China tea while you enjoy the upper veranda.
