About Us > Our Location

We are a NC Bed and Breakfast located in the oldest town in Halifax County, Enfield North Carolina.

We’re centrally located between two popular cities with great outdoor fun, Rocky Mount NC and Roanoke Rapids NC, which is also near the historic city of Halifax NC. Enfield NC is also east of Medoc Mountain State Park, another popular destination. To learn more about recreation in these areas, be sure to see the Other Places page in our Recreation section.

Halifax County and Enfield are part of North Carolina’s Inner Coastal Plain, and just to the west begins the foothills of the Piedmont. Open vistas of farmland growing tobacco, cotton, and peanuts make for a perfect bicycle trip.

Start at Bellamy Manor and ride out our driveway onto the Ringwood Road straight to Medoc Mountain State Park or travel Thirteen Bridges Road to Scotland Neck’s Sylvan Waterfowl Park. Lovely, flat easy to ride roads lead you to many historic sites.

Whether you are biking, walking or driving there are sights you will never forget. Take a walk around Enfield and spot the architectural gems that abound and visit Aunt Ruby’s Peanut store. Visit the old Masonic Lodge with its grand theater and balcony, a perfect art deco space complete with bas relief of Egyptian themes. The Masonic Lodge is being planned as a cultural arts center with live performance space and film venue.

Lake Gaston is only 30 minutes away. The Roanoke Rapids Theater and Carolina Crossroads are only 20 minutes north. The town of Halifax is a stones throw from Enfield where you will find a completely restored historic village. Paddle the Roanoke River and catch some Rock Fishing or a milder trip on Fishing Creek. Let the Anderson’s take you on a hike through the Dismal Swamp on private land that very few have ever trod.

Rocky Mount to the south, features a great trail that has options for walking, paddling or bike riding. See the Tar River Trail information on our Other Places page in our Recreation section. We’re also about an hour and 15 minutes northwest of Greenville, NC – home of East Carolina University – a cultural haven which includes several theathre projects, shopping and restaurant avenues.  Add another 15 minutes and you’re on the water leading to the Pamlico Sound in the historic walking town of Washington, NC.

Bellamy Manor Bed & Breakfast could be your surprise North Carolina stop.
