We are a North Carolina Bed and Breakfast located in the oldest town in Halifax County, Enfield North Carolina.
Enfield is part of North Carolina’s coastal plain, just to the west begins the foothills of the Piedmont. Open vistas of farmland growing tobacco, cotton, and peanuts make for a perfect bicycle trip. Start at Bellamy Manor and ride out our driveway onto the Ringwood Road straight to Medoc Mountain State Park or travel Thirteen Bridges Road to Scotland Neck’s Sylvan Waterfowl Park. Lovely flat easy to ride roads lead you to many historic sites. Whether you are biking, walking or driving there are sights you will never forget. Take a walk around Enfield and spot the architectural gems that abound and visit Aunt Ruby’s Peanut store. Visit the old Masonic Lodge with its grand theater and balcony, a perfect art deco space complete with bas relief of Egyptian themes. The Masonic Lodge is being planned as a cultural arts center with live performance space and film venue. Lake Gaston is only 30 minutes away. The Roanoke Rapids Theater and Carolina Crossroads are only 20 minutes north. The town of Halifax is a stones throw from Enfield where you will find a completely restored historic village. Paddle the Roanoke River and catch some Rock Fishing or a milder trip on Fishing Creek. Let the Anderson’s take you on a hike through the Dismal Swamp on private land that very few have ever trod.
